An Illuminated Metropolis

In Illumina City, a city development plan is underway! The goal of this plan: to make the city a place that Pokémon and humans alike can truly share. Shortly after your arrival, you choose one of these partner Pokémon to accompany you on your journey: Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile.

Together with your partner Pokémon, you can explore the streets of this huge city or visit wild sectors – habitats where you’ll encounter wild Pokémon. If you want to catch one, you have to aim carefully and throw a Poké Ball at it, or battle it with the Pokémon in your team.

New, Dynamic Battles

For the very first time, trainers and their Pokémon move together and act in real-time during battles. Pokémon execute their moves as soon as their trainers command them.

In addition to type differences, there will be new battle conditions to consider. For example, the timing when switching your Pokémon, the different delays before a move is executed, and the size of the area affected by an attack.

Mega Evolution Returns!

In Illumina City, Pokémon can go beyond normal evolution with Mega Evolution! When a trainer’s key stone reacts with the Mega Stone of one of their Pokémon, the Pokémon doesn’t just change its form and size – it unleashes unforeseen powers that can turn the tide of battle!
