An ambitious new adventure set in Illumina City awaits you in Pokémon Legends: Z-A – releasing late 2025 on Nintendo Switch. Explore the city, uncover its secrets, and battle Pokémon like never before!

An Illuminated Metropolis

A city development plan is underway in Illumina City! The goal of this plan: to make the city a place that Pokémon and humans can truly share equally. Shortly after your arrival, you’ll choose one of these partner Pokémon to accompany you on your journey: Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile.

Together with your partner Pokémon, you can explore the streets of this huge city or visit Wild Zones – habitats where you will encounter wild Pokémon. If you want to catch one, you must aim carefully and throw a Poké Ball at it, or take it on with the Pokémon in your team.

New, Dynamic Battles

For the very first time, trainers and their Pokémon move together and act in real time during a battle. Pokémon execute their attacks as soon as their trainers command them.

In addition to type differences, there will be new battle conditions to consider. For example, the timing when switching your Pokémon, the different durations before an attack is launched, and the size of an attack's area of effect.

Mega Evolution is Back!

In Illumina City, Pokémon can go beyond a normal evolution with Mega Evolution! When a trainer's key stone reacts with the mega stone of one of their Pokémon, the Pokémon doesn't just change its form and size – it unleashes unforeseen powers that can turn the tide of battle!
