A luminous metropolis

An urban redevelopment plan is underway in Lumiose City! The goal: to make the city a place where humans and Pokémon can truly live together. Shortly after you arrive, you'll choose Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile as your partner Pokémon.

Together, explore the streets of this vast city and visit wild zones—habitats where wild Pokémon roam. Aim carefully and throw a Poké Ball to catch them, or weaken them in battle with help from your Pokémon team.

New, dynamic battles

For the very first time, Trainers and Pokémon move together and act in real time during battles, where Pokémon use their abilities on command from their Trainer.

Beyond Pokémon types, new mechanics must be considered, such as timing your move or switching Pokémon, how long a move takes to activate, and the range of its effect.

Mega Evolutions return!

In Lumiose, Pokémon can reach new evolutionary heights through Mega Evolution! When a Trainer's Keystone resonates with a Pokémon’s held Mega Stone, it transforms—changing form and size—and unleashes new levels of power that can turn the tide of battle!
