A bold new adventure awaits in Lumiose City in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, coming to Nintendo Switch in late 2025. Explore the city, uncover its secrets, and battle Pokémon like never before!

A metropolis for everyone

Lumiose City is being redeveloped! The goal is to turn it into a place where both Pokémon and people can truly feel at home. Shortly after arriving, you’ll choose one of these three Pokémon as your partner: Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile.

Together, you can wander through the city streets or visit Wild Zones - habitats where wild Pokémon live. To catch a wild Pokémon, aim carefully and throw a Poké Ball, or weaken it first by battling with your own Pokémon.

New, dynamic battles

For the first time, Trainers and their Pokémon can move around and act in real time during battles. Pokémon will use their moves as soon as their Trainer gives the command.

In addition to type matchups, there are new factors to consider such as the timing of switching Pokémon or using a move, how long a move takes to execute, and how large an area it affects.

Mega Evolutions are back!

In Lumiose City, Pokémon can undergo a transformation known as Mega Evolution. When a Trainer’s Key Stone resonates with the Mega Stone of their Pokémon, the Pokémon not only changes form but also reaches a new power level, providing a huge advantage in battle!
