The hunt for the Crystal Stars begins

It all starts when Princess Peach calls on Mario to help her with a treasure hunt that begins in Rogueport. But when our hero arrives, the princess is nowhere to be found! Learning about the existence of the Crystal Stars, he sets out to find these legendary treasures in the hope that they will help him locate Peach.

Of course, Mario isn’t the only one looking for the Crystal Stars, and Bowser is just one of the fearsome rivals that stand in his way! Will our hero be able to find the Crystal Stars, open the mysterious Thousand-Year Door, and maybe even save the world?

A paper world full of surprises

To get your hands on the Crystal Stars, you’ll have to venture out of Rogueport and explore the world! All kinds of adventures await, like a showdown with a massive dragon hidden in a spooky castle, exploring a cursed town shrouded in darkness, or even solving a thrilling mystery aboard a train!

In this paper-crafted world, Mario will fold himself every which way to overcome obstacles! He can transform into a paper airplane to glide over gaps, turn sideways to slip through narrow spaces, and more!

Partners with unique abilities

Throughout the adventure, you’ll meet colorful characters who will gladly lend you a hand. These allies will not only help you in your quest, but also keep things lively during your journey!

Each one has unique abilities. For example, Goombella can provide info on the places you visit and the enemies you face, Koops can retrieve out-of-reach items, and Madame Flurrie can blow away obstacles to reveal hidden paths! You can even use these abilities in battle to gain an advantage over your foes!

Theatrical battles

In this adventure, turn-based battles take place... on a stage, in front of a cheering audience! You can perform all sorts of actions to defeat your enemies, such as equipping badges that grant new attacks or using special techniques powered by the Crystal Stars!

Time your attacks and defenses well to boost their effectiveness. The better your performance, the more the audience will cheer you on!
